Gulasch vom Weiderind
North German home cooking, ready to serve in a Weck jar: Kalieber from Lastrup cooks its goulash with beef from extensively grazed pasture cattle, with onions, peppers, tomatoes and a generous splash of red wine.
What sets this product apart
Kalieber gives the Hungarian classic a North German reading: beef from Angus, Galloway and Limousin cattle raised on extensive pasture, natural ingredients, no artificial additives. The goulash tastes hearty and full of flavour, finely seasoned and naturally high in protein. Add a side, Spätzle, potatoes or pasta, and the meal is ready.
Behind Kalieber are Sarah and Mirko Dhem, who founded the company in 2015: modern butchery from Lastrup, close cooperation with farmers and a consistent nose-to-tail approach. The company comprises two sites, a restaurant and its own academy devoted to barbecuing.
Tender, juicy, robust in flavour, lovely packaging, and good for the store cupboard too.
Great product, good quality meat, very well seasoned.
