A fruit tea with the feel of the northern coast: for the “Ostfriesenperle”, Thiele & Freese in Emden blends apple, hibiscus & berries with slightly tart Sanddorn (sea buckthorn). The rooibos base makes the tea caffeine-free, to be enjoyed hot or cold.
What sets this product apart
Fruity apple, bright hibiscus & selected berries meet the characteristically tart sea buckthorn, rounded off on a base of rooibos. That keeps the tea free of caffeine and theine, and it is supplemented with vitamin C. In the cup it tastes mildly fruity, slightly sharp and refreshing; brewed cold, with sugar and ice cubes, it also works as an iced tea. The coastal scene on the pack shows where this tea is at home: beach, gulls & sea.
Since its founding in Emden in 1873, Thiele & Freese has been closely bound up with the East Frisian tea tradition. Today Franz, Celine & Lennart Thiele run the family business in the third and fourth generation. For more than 150 years, knowledge of tea has passed from one generation to the next, and to this day the family personally vouches for the quality with its name. Slightly sharp, refreshing, with sugar and ice cubes surely good as an iced tea too.
