Rapeseed honey meets bee pollen: “Konfetti” (confetti) from Hof Behn in Groß Twülpstedt is made from exactly two ingredients, both gathered by the bees of the farm's own apiary and processed right there on the farm, with nothing else added.
What sets this product apart
There is nothing in the jar but rapeseed honey and bee pollen. On its own, pollen tastes rather bitter and floury; mild rapeseed honey is the partner it needs: a gentle sweetness, with the pollen's bitter edge behind it. Bee pollen naturally provides almost every vitamin that can be taken in through food; only vitamin B12 is missing. Children enjoy “Konfetti” too.
Hof Behn is a family business in Groß Twülpstedt that closely interlinks arable farming, beekeeping & food production. The bees forage where a wide range of main crops are in flower over the summer; the family processes honey and pollen just a short way off, on its own premises, without any subsequent chemical treatment. The range focuses on plant-based proteins and fats; “Konfetti” is available in food retail, in the farm shop & online.
