A mild beer with 5 per cent organic blueberries from the Bickbeernhof in Brokeloh: Birdy Beer in Stadthagen brews the all-natural Blaukehlchen, named after the bluethroat, a native bird, with a fine berry note, subtle sweetness & a light freshness.
What sets this product apart
The blueberries come from the certified organic cultivation of the Bickbeernhof in Brokeloh and go into the brew as a real ingredient, not as a flavouring. Top-fermented and bottled unfiltered, the beer develops a balanced malt body that carries the fruit mildly and harmoniously. At 4.9 per cent alcohol, the Blaukehlchen stays pleasantly light in taste and sets itself clearly apart from flavoured fruit beers.
Birdy Beer is an independent brewery start-up from Stadthagen, founded in 2021 out of a passion for craft-brewed beer. Just a year after it was founded, the team switched its entire range to organic. Under the motto “Bier trinken. Vögel schützen.” (Drink beer. Protect birds.), the brewery works to conserve native bird species. The Bickbeernhof fits in well: it has farmed its land gently and in tune with nature for years.
Good story, innovative idea, lovely bottle design, would make a fine ambassador.
